Ric Formans career began in the 70s as founding winemaker at Sterling Vineyards. He, along with the legendary Louis P. Martini , is credited with beginning Californias first champion of Merlot. Following his work at Sterling, Ric worked for many years at Newton Vineyards on Spring Mt. where he produced some of Californias finest examples of Chardonnay and Merlot.
