Mary Fran Rocca is a former dentist who bought the 21 acre vineyard near the Stags Leap District off the Silverado Trail with her husband Eric Grigsby in 1999. They hired acclaimed winemaking con sultant Celia Welch and they decided to be as organic and sustainable as possible, even using horses instead of tractors in the vineyard. The wine is made at the Laird Family Estate facility north of Napa. Our farming practices are holistic, guided by the closely connected twin goals of farming or ganically and sustainably to bring the vines into longterm natural balance with their environment, and
producing intensely flavored, balanced wines that express the personality of the land that bears them.
